Integrity Veterinary Center (IVC) is looking for ER veterinarians! Our renovations to build our new ER and ICU are almost complete, and we are excited to launch the IVC ER and ICU this coming summer.
IVC is a specialty and urgent care hospital in Northampton, MA. We opened in October of 2022 with medical oncology, outpatient ultrasound services, urgent care, and internal medicine. You will be working with a board-certified internist, criticalist, and oncologist, all of whom are available to you for case consultations. Addition of a surgeon in the near future is planned. We are committed to practicing the highest standard of medicine, with the aim of helping each patient live comfortably and happily for as long as possible. We are a privately owned hospital with no plans for corporate affiliation.
High case volumes and widespread staffing shortages are leading to burnout across the field of veterinary medicine. Given this, our aim is to cultivate a healthy and sustainable working environment for our whole team.
We offer three different salary ranges for ER doctors, depending on which scheduling features are the most important to you:
-Guaranteed weekday and daytime schedule: $120,000-$150,000
-Guaranteed consistent schedule, includes weekend +/- overnight shifts: $140,000-$160,000
-Variable schedule, includes weekend +/- overnight shifts: $150,000-$170,000
Three or four day work week options are available. Our hospital abides by appropriate staffing ratios (at least 2 dedicated support staff per doctor), kindness and respect (zero tolerance for abusive behavior from clients), and honest/open communication practices. If you are a recent grad (or a newcomer to the field of ER) and you are looking for structured mentorship, we offer that as well.
We believe non-compete and non-solicitation agreements are generally harmful to our profession, and therefore we do not use them.
Other benefits include three weeks of vacation plus one week of CE time, health, dental, and vision insurance, pet insurance stipend, uniform and shoe stipend, CE/discretionary stipend, liability insurance, and reimbursement for your MA, MCSR, and DEA licenses. IVC is located in Northampton, Massachusetts, about 3 hours from NYC and 1.5-2 hours from Boston. It’s hard to write a city description without it sounding unhelpfully generic, so here are some of our favorite things about Northampton:
-Cafes: The best eclairs in existence can be found at the Woodstar Cafe. We also love the coffee and matcha at Familiars, the lunch sandwiches at the Roost, and the delicious smoothies (and the community support/activism) at the Haymarket.
-Restaurants: Noodles (Northampton) makes delicious Asian noodle soups, rice bowls, and traditional Thai style salads. Both Amanouz and Mosaic have fantastic Moroccan food (plus a wide selection of crepes), and Daily Operation in nearby Easthampton has a variety of farm-centric, mostly American-style options with occasional bonus live music.
-Outdoor Adventures: There are plenty of hiking trails, a climbing gym in nearby Hadley, and a variety of running and cycling clubs. There’s a giant hill on the Smith College campus which is absolutely fantastic for sledding. Ask our doctors about their favorite kayaking spots!
-Indoor Activities: Easthampton Clay offers regular pottery classes, and we promise you’ve never been to a bigger yarn store than Webs. There are numerous new and used book shops in and around Northampton, and the Baker’s Pin hosts regular (virtual and in-person) cooking and baking classes.
